A flexible silicone pad transfers ink from an engraved plate onto the item. At PrintSide, availability depends on the product and decoration position you choose.

When to choose pad printing
Small logos on compatible pens, keyrings and shaped promotional products. Check the available methods on the product before preparing your design.
Colours and colour count
Spot colours. midocean offers up to 4 on suitable items; the selected product may allow fewer. Provide Pantone references and include any white elements.
The limit applies to a specific decoration position, not necessarily to every position on the item. If brand colour is critical, provide your colour references when requesting a quotation.
How to prepare your artwork
Prepare vector artwork with outlined fonts. Keep important details clear at the actual print size.
- Prepare the design at its intended physical size and use the selected product's template where available.
- For logos, keep an editable vector original; outline fonts or supply the required font information.
- For photographs, use the original high-resolution image. Enlarging a small image does not restore detail.
- Confirm accepted upload formats and any minimum line thickness or text size for your chosen product.
What to check before ordering
A small print position can limit readable text even when the source file is sharp.
The print area, material, item colour and finish can affect the appearance. Follow the care instructions supplied for the decorated product.
Questions about pad printing
Can I use this method on any product?
No. Use the methods and positions offered for the selected item. If you are unsure, send us the product reference and your artwork so we can check suitability.
How do I compare alternative methods?
Start with your design: solid colours, photographs, fine details or a textured finish. Then compare the available methods on the item. Read about digital printing.
Order with PrintSide
Choose your product, check its decoration options and upload your artwork through the customizer. We confirm the design, placement and production details in a print proof before manufacturing. Review spelling, size and position carefully; a screen preview does not show the finished material or reproduce its colours exactly.
